Caribou Hardware 8 - M6 x 20mm, nyloc nuts and washers for case cleats <br />4 - M8 x 20mm button head screws, nyloc nuts and washers for the case compression latch<br />2 - M6 x 20mm button head screws, nyloc nuts and washers for R side latch plate<br />2 - M6 x 30mm button head screws, 7mm (1/4") spacers, nyloc nuts and washers for L side latch plate<br />You can use an M6 nyloc nut or 1 M6 regular nut and washer for the spacers<br />4 - M6 x 20mm flat head screws, M6 fender washers, flange bushings, nyloc nuts, washers for the standoff pins
20mm / 3/4" Flat Head Screw These are used for the standoff pins on the bottom of the Motech rack. They have to be short so they don't run into the lower rack struts.
Tools used 4 and 5mm hex, 10 and 17mm sockets, 17, 13 and 10mm combination wrenches
Deburr the Pre-drilled Backing Plate Holes I used a single edge blade.
Mount the Backing Plate Stick all the screws through the backing Plate from the back.
The Screws Sticking Out from the back.
Mount the Hardware Mount the 2 lower cleats and the top locking assembly to the case.
Flange Bushing Lower Case Support 20mm / 3/4" Flat Head Screw gets mounted on the SW Motech carrier.
Left Side Motech Rack With Hardware The 2 flange bushings are bolted to the bottom of the rack. The latch plate is bolted to the top.
Before - Left side is too close to the side rail You can't turn the compression latch to the right to cinch down the bag.
Shim the Left Side Latch Plate 2 - M6 x 30mm screws with 1 nut and 1 washer (1/4") as a shim standoff..
New Shim Standoffs Caribou sent me these spacers after I installed the cases..
With the Shim the Left Side Latch Clears the Bike's Side Rail
Flange Bushing Lower Case Support M6 20mm / 3/4" Flat Head Screw. It has to be short so it doesn't run into the Motech rack strut.
Adjusting the Compression Latch Jamb Nuts Adjust the height of the rotating cam/ latch so it engages the slot in the latch plate with a 17mm wrench.
Loosening the Compression Latch Jamb Nuts Put locktite blue on the 2 nuts.
Adjusting the Compression Latch Jamb Nuts You have to take the nut and the cam off too adjust the jamb nut.
Adjusting the Compression Latch Jamb Nuts I had to lower the cam latch so it would engage the slot in the latch plate. Use Locktite blue when reassembling.
