Remove the Left Cowl If you have crash guards you have to remove them first.
Remove Top Tank Cover Use a 5mm hex to remove the 2 long screws that go in the front and the 2 short screws that go in the back. There are 4 plastic rivets around the inside of the cover. Push the center down and pull them out. All the rivets are the same size.
Remove Top Tank Cover Use a 5mm hex to remove the 2 long screws that go in the front. Front screw on top. Front plastic rivet on the side.
Remove Top Tank Cover Removing 4 plastic rivets. Poke the center with a pointed tool. Push the center in about 1mm. Pull the rivet out.
Remove Top Tank Cover This is the plastic rivet. All the rivits are the same size.
Remove Top Tank Cover Removing one of the inner rivets.
Lift the Cover Off Pull the cover back and off
Remove the Left Side Cowl There are 3 plastic rivets under by the radiator and one shoulder screw up by the video display on the fin that sticks up that have to come off. In this picture 2 are off. All the rivets are the same size.
Remove the Left Side Cowl The 5mm hex shoulder screw up on the fin that's sticking up.
Shoulder Screw This keeps the screw from crushing the plastic.
Remove the Left Side Cowl Grab under the bottom and pull the first plug out on the bottom right where my hand is.
Remove the Left Side Cowl Hold the left side as shown and pull the second plug out on the bottom left where my right hand is.
Remove the Left Side Cowl Hold the top as shown and pull out. I marked where the plugs are with green masking tape so I will know where to press when I put it together.
Remove the Left Side Cowl Carefully pull the plastic away from the center of the bike and out of the top slots.
Remove the Left Side Cowl I marked where the plugs are so I will know where to press when I put it together.
Under the Cowl
Push Pin Locations Inside of the left cowling.
Push Pin Locations This shows the 4 spots where the cowl pins push into rubber grommets.
Replace the Cowling The front edge of the cowling mates with the 2 small black plastic tabs on the front edge of the cowling inter cover.
Replace the Cowling The 2 white tabs on the front edge (shown on top) of the cowling mates with the black tabs on the front edge of the cowling inner cover.
Replace the Cowling The three rectangular open slots in the air intake behind the fan mate with the tabs on the cowling.
Replace the Cowling The three slots in the air intake (triangular opening) mate with the 3 tabs on the cowling. You can also see a few of the black plastic push pins that go into the grammets.
Replace the Cowling Start by positioning the cowling in the 4 front slots.
Replace the Cowling Line up the top of the cowling and press the top pin where my thumb is into the grommet.
This is Wrong. The white tab goes under the black trim.

Replace the Cowling Push the cowl in toward the bike.
Replace the Cowling Line up the white tabs on the cowling with the black tabs on the cowling inner. cover and snap them together This is what it looks like when the lower front is in the correct position.
Replace the Cowling Next snap the 3 tabs and slots in the air intake together.
Replace the Cowling Push the pin under the honda emblem into the grommet.
Replace the Cowling Push the bottom pin into the grommet. My thumb is where the pin is.
Replace the Cowling The tabs on the air intake are all engaged and lined up.
Replace the Cowling The shoulder screw goes in at the top left. It's a 5mm hex.
Replace the Cowling One rivet goes in the top of the radiator towards the center of the bike. Once the rivet is seated push in the pin.
Replace the Cowling The second rivet goes in under the front edge of the cowling.
Replace the Cowling The 3rd revit goes in under the cowling on the left side of the bike.
Replace the top Tank Cover You will use 4 rivets, 2 short screws and 2 long screws.
Replace the top Tank Cover Slide the top tank cover in place.
Replace the top Tank Cover Make sure the tabs in the tank cover go into the slots in the top of the right and left fairings..
Replace the top Tank Cover When it's on right the tank cover will be flush with the top of the fairing.
Replace the top Tank Cover The long screws go in the top front and the short screws in the top back. The 4 rivets go around the inside of the cover.
