Installing the Givi SR1178 top case mounting kit I'm installing my Givi V47NNA 47 liter Monokey Motorcycle Top Case and the Givi M7 monokey top plate from the KTM I traded in onto the Africa Twin. The SR1178 adapts the M7 plate to the Africa Twin OEM rack.
Installing the Givi SR1178 top case mounting kit Fit the upper support brackets onto the Africa Twin's rear rack. Don't tighten. Just run the screws down to take up the slack.
Installing the Givi SR1178 top case mounting kit Put the larger washers under the upper bracket screws.
Installing the Givi SR1178 top case mounting kit Running the screws down till they just start to tighten. This will allow you to align everything at the end.
Installing the Givi SR1178 top case mounting kit Remove the 4 bolts that hold the rear fender on. The lower support rods bolt on here.
Installing the Givi SR1178 top case mounting kit Lower support rod hardware. There's 4 long screws with washers and spacers.
Installing the Givi SR1178 top case mounting kit Start by hand screwing the lower support rod's screw facing the rear of the bike up into the rear threaded hole on the bike. Just start the threads.
Installing the Givi SR1178 top case mounting kit Position the lower support rod so the front screw lines up. Screw the front support screw up into the bike.
Installing the Givi SR1178 top case mounting kit Start the flathead screw that connects the support rod to the upper support bracket. Hand tighten.
Installing the Givi SR1178 top case mounting kit The SR1178 is installed on the AT's rear rack. All the upper and lower supports are in place and hand tightened.
Installing the Givi SR1178 top case mounting kit The Givi M7 Monokey Topcase Plate off my other bike. Note that the plate comes with the 4 screws and hardware. The SR1178 does not include this hardware.
Installing the Givi SR1178 top case mounting kit Place the M7 plate on top of the upper support brackets and drop in the 4 screws. If the screws don't line up move the SR1178 hardware around until they do.
Installing the Givi SR1178 top case mounting kit Tighten up the lower support rods now that the M7 plate screws line up.
Installing the Givi SR1178 top case mounting kit Tighten up the 4 upper bracket screws making sure you don't move them around.
Installing the Givi SR1178 top case mounting kit Tighten up the lower support rod bolts.
Installing the Givi SR1178 top case mounting kit Push the 4 plastic caps up over the lower nuts.
Installing the Givi SR1178 top case mounting kit Place the M7 plate on top of the upper support brackets.
Installing the Givi SR1178 top case mounting kit Drop in the 4 screws in and tighten them. The nuts are 10mm.
