Lower the 2022 Africa Twin Adventure Sport
I have a 2022 ATAS and am 5'-5" with a 29 inseam. This is one of the easiest bikes to lower. You need 2 things. Soupys Performance Africa Twin All Years 1000 / 1100 Adjustable Kickstand & Horseshoe Style Lowering Link combo Kit; cost 336.00 and the Honda Lower Seat 08R73-MKS-E00ZB cost 165.00. It comes in black and blue. The seat will get you 3/4" lower and the kit will get you down to a seat height of under 30" if you want. Put the seat, lower kickstand and the lowering link on and slip the forks 1" up on the triple trees. Easy job. I did lose 2" of ground clearance.
The new lowering link replaces the OEM link. It's made up of 2 hexagoanal turn buckles with jam nuts that take a 3/4" wrench. Once installed lengthing the turn buckle lowers the bike. You have to be sure you turn each side the same amount. It looks like each complete rotation (6 flats) moves the bike 3/16". Setting the bike up was trial and error. I made an adjustment and measured the seat height and sat on the bike.
After riding the bike 4000 miles the suspension settled in and the bike dropped another 1/2" so I shortened the turn buckles to bring it back up to a 30" seat height.
