GPS Routes in the Foothills West of Denver Digitized by Chuck Kopelson
- All rides are self-guided. You are on your own. We recommend that you always go with a partner.
- Any descriptions with Dual Sport means there are dirt roads on the route.
- All other routes are pavement.
- I created the routes on Basecamp 4.7.4 with the City Navigator North America NT 2022.25 maps on a PC
- These were manually digitized from maps into Garmin Basecamp as tracks.
- The tracks were converted into routes in Basecamp so you can get turn by turn directions.
- The routes were exported from Basecamp as gpx files.
- I don't know if these routes will run on non Garmin GPS's.
- Conditions on trails and roads change from season to season so be careful.
Behind the Rocks Super Ride - 135 miles of twistys in 3-1/2 to 4 hrs
Starts in Morrison and goes up through Red Rocks to Lookout Mtn. Down into Genesee and down Grapevine to Bearcreek. Catch Kerr Gulch to Evergreen Pkwy. Turn North up Soda Creek and end up at Squaw Pass Rd. and through old Squaw Pass Rd. Take Witter Gulch S down to upper Bear Creek past Evergreen lake and down 73 to Buffalo park Rd. Head South on Hatch and break out at Brook Forest Dr. and meet up at 73 again. Take 73 to 285 to Kennedy Gulch which is like a rollercoaster. Head out down Foxton Rd to Broken Arrow and cut over to Ohlman Rd and go up and over City View to Turkey Creek Rd. Cut left at Flint and into a super twisty area and exit at 285. Take Turkey Creek N to the Evergreen roundabout, down to Evergreen and catch Little Cub Creek road to High Drive and back to 285. Run Turkey Creek Rd to Deer Creek Canyon and end up at South Valley Park.
